President Ali used the opportunity to remind residents that the PPP/C, compared to A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), has delivered on majority of its manifesto in a shorter time than the opposition did during their time in government. For this reason, the President urged voters to remember that come Monday, their vote determines not only the community development but the overall transformation of the country at large.
“When we vote, we are not only voting for the council, we are voting for the macro-development plans for the country and for this NDC to advance unhindered, if we do not have a local government system that supports the macro-development transformation of the country then where are we going to go?”

He said that people who are unemployed must find ways to add meaningful contributions to society.
“You have to make the right choice and that right choice requires a change in thinking…You have to get involved, you have to think positive, you have to redirect your energy to be a part of the transformation.
“Lift yourself up from your slumber and get yourself involved with the development of the community, get involved in the development of your country,” President Ali encouraged the residents.
He said that many persons who share the vision of “One Guyana” are making the decision to embrace that change.
