Murder over cellphone: Police searching for businessman

And on Saturday night, the misunderstanding led to an altercation and the victim tried to escape the businessman’s wrath.

“The suspect followed and dealt Haimchand a stab to his upper left side chest.  Haimchand fell to the ground, after which the suspect escaped the scene on foot,” Police Headquarters noted.

The victim was pronounced dead at the Georgetown Public Hospital; the body is at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home for storage, awaiting a Post-Mortem Examination.

“Several persons were questioned and certain information received. Police are currently looking for the suspect,” the Police said.
