To address the issue, Hicken said the force has redesigned and digitised its entrance examination.
But in recruiting ranks, the Commissioner of Police said focus is being placed on ensuring there is “greater” diversity and inclusivity.
“There is a need for greater diversity and inclusively within our ranks.
“By fostering a culture of support, respect and inclusivity we can ensure every member of our force feels valued, empowered and equipped to perform their duties with excellence and integrity,” Hicken noted.
He said already this posture is being adopted across the country.
Despite the challenges, Hicken highlighted that the police force must remain vigilant, adaptable and proactive in addressing the evolving challenges and safeguarding communities.
