Elite League title race heating up with top three clubs locked on points

Slingerz (orange and black) won 6-0 against Buxton United

In Saturday’s double-header at the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Training Centre in Providence, East Bank Demerara, Slingerz FC, a former league champion, continued their winning streak, outscoring East Coast Demerara’s Buxton United.

In the highly anticipated clash between two of Georgetown’s premier teams, Guyana Defence Force emerged victorious, leveraging their potent attacking prowess and superior fitness against Western Tigers FC.

It was Sherwyn Caesar who sealed the deal with a goal in the 90+2nd minute. Despite their loss, Western Tigers FC remains in fourth place on the points table, holding steady with three wins and three losses, totaling nine points.
