Search launched for man after boat collision in Moraikobai

A search party has been activated to locate a resident of Moraikobai Village, Region Five, who went missing after two boats collided in the village Friday morning.

The missing man has been identified as Charles Osbourne.

“There was an accident, it occurred probably about 09:30 this morning with two boats and as a result one person [is missing],” Derrick John, Chairman of the National Toshaos Council (NTC) and also Toshao of Moraikobai told the News Room.

John said Osbourne was driving a 15hp outboard Yamaha engine boat when a collision occurred with a 250hp engine boat, which was transporting people into the village.

The village is scheduled to celebrate its 100th year anniversary on Saturday.
