Fisherman hospitalised after stabbed by nephew
A fisherman is admitted at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was stabbed multiple times by his nephew on Friday, March 6, 2026, at about 18:35h at River View Sea Dam, Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
Police said the 32-year-old fisherman of River View Sea Dam, Ruimveldt, and the suspect who resides at the same address, were standing in the yard when an argument ensued between them.
During the altercation, the suspect allegedly armed himself with a sharp object, held onto the victim from behind and dealt him several stabs about his body.
The suspect then fled the area in an unknown direction.
The injured man was subsequently transported to the Georgetown public hospital, where he was examined by a doctor on duty and admitted in a stable condition.
Efforts are being made to apprehend the suspect as investigations continue.
