I hate studying. I love to pass the test though. Is this not the same for many of us? We want the benefit but not the sacrifice to get the benefit. Many husbands proclaim to know their wives and so do many wives think they know their husbands. It’s usually not until the marriage hits rock bottom that we realize, “I did not know that bothered you!”
Marriage is a lifelong school of knowledge. It is the only University from which you do not graduate. It is the one course you will never earn a degree from. It is for life and only ends till death do you both part, unless of course you throw in the towel like many today are doing. The truth is, marriages can last a lifetime and reap so many benefits without a degree or diploma in hand. You do not need to know your spouse perfectly to change your spouse. You only need to know your spouse’s weaknesses as your spouse needs to know yours and both of you can make a power move to bring change to each other.
It’s for better or for worse and the Bible says “Husbands, live with your wives with UNDERSTANDING.” God also says “Wives, respect your husband’s leadership.” This is every husband and wife’s dream. Every wife wants to be understood and loved and every husband wants to be respected. However, the flaws we see in each other are like roadblocks to the command we are given to love and respect. We want to see change in each other for the better. The disappointing truth is, YOU CANNOT CHANGE YOUR SPOUSE ON YOUR OWN BUT YOU CAN BE A PARTNER WITH THE ONE WHO WILL BRING THE CHANGE. Here are the three most powerful ways to help change your spouse for the better.
Pray
A great connection with the One who created marriage comes through prayer. When I see a weakness in Michelle my job is to pray for her to be strong to resist the tricks of the devil. Satan does not like marriage and will attack you and your spouse. He knows your weak points and will prey on those areas to bring division in your marriage so speak with God about it and let God do the work to strengthen your spouse to bring the change needed.
Believe When You Pray
6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. James 1: 6-8. You also partner with God to see the change in your spouse when you believe that He will do it. It is not just believing in God but also believing God that He alone has the capability to transform your spouse into that wife or husband He has called them to be. Michelle and I are living testimonies.
Wait To See The change
You will see the difference in your spouse. You will experience a better marriage. You will get the love and respect you yearn for. But you must wait for God to do it when you pray asking Him to do it and believe He will do it. Lamentations 3:25 “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”
Are you yearning to see change in your marriage for the better? Do you have a desire to see your spouse become the greatest husband or wife? Remember this fact; your spouse is desiring the same for you too. We all have flaws. We all need change but we waste precious time trying to change each other without success. We get miserable when we do not see the change for the better, not uderstanding that we cannot change each other. We actually have the luxury of taking our requests to God in prayer, believing for Him to answer our request and waiting to see the answer in His perfect timing, while doing our part by building our marriage relationships.
Focus on the good about your spouse and allow God to fix the imperfections in your spouse. You may not be able to do it but you have the privilege of partnering with a GREAT, ALL-KNOWING God through prayer, believing in prayer and waiting for the answer to your prayer. Huddle up and enjoy each other in marriage while you both wait on the Lord.

A licensed firearm holder and construction worker are in police custody after the latter was found with the gun and claimed it was given to him for safekeeping.
A statement from Police Headquarters noted that about 04:15 hrs on Monday, a Supernumerary Rank attached to a Private Security Service contacted the Beterverwagting Police Station and reported that he retrieved a firearm from a man at a bar located in Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara.
The rank retrieved the weapon from the 26-year-old construction worker after he was seen walking with it in his hand.
As a result, Police ranks went to the location where they contacted the Supernumerary rank, who handed over a firearm – a 9mm pistol and 15 live matching rounds.
The ranks then questioned the 26-year-old of Mon Repos and he related that the firearm is licensed to a 65-year-old Gold Miner of Providence, East Bank Demerara, who gave him the firearm for safekeeping because he was consuming alcohol.
The licensed firearm holder was contacted and the firearm and ammunition were lodged.
Both the licensed firearm holder and the Construction Worker are presently in custody. Investigations continue.

Persaud set the fastest time of the day (1:16.691s) on the second lap in the Group 4/Unlimited race to better compatriot Mark Vieira’s previous record of 1:17.527s, set by the Mazda RX-8 at the South Dakota Grand Prix last July.
He then topped the competition to close off the iconic November race meet in grand style, with thousands of fans cheering on the action.
Persaud praised his team for the success, highlighting that “we just run a reliable car consistently and that was the plan.”
“I’m just so happy that the last race came off so well, because you know a lot of people came out to see the big cars so I think it was good success, but it was Roger (Yuen), John and the guys really. I just show up and drive, so I was happy to be given a car that could finish all the laps, which is key now at South Dakota- having something that is reliable,” Persaud told the media.

The first Group 4 race was red-flagged at the completion of four of the eight scheduled laps, with several drivers encountering mechanical issues and having to dropped out.
When race officials signaled the drivers off for ‘unsafe track conditions’, Jamaican Doug Gore, in his KIA Rio, was leading, followed by Team CAMS’ Mohan Rangasammy in his Mazda RX-7, Persaud, and Lennard Samaroo of Team CAMS in his Mazda Miata.
Race officials awarded those positions to the respective drivers.

Trinidad’s Franklyn Boodram (Renault RS01) and Guyanese Gavin Gayadin (Mazda RX-7) came off after three and two laps respectively, while Vieira, Guyanese Andrew King (Mazda RX-7) and Mark Maloney (Mazda RX-3) of Barbados developed issues even before completing a lap, thereby abandoning their mission.
The second Group 4 race was also red-flagged on the first lap following an accident involving Gore and Guyanese Kevin Jeffrey (Mitsubishi Evo), forcing both competitors out of the final race, which was dominated by Persaud.

Cheered on by family members and staff, the ENet CEO put on a show in fading light at South Dakota, prevailing in a tight exchange with Vieira, who spun off on lap three, but came back to take a distant second.
Rangasammy, who was also making a spirited challenge for the top spot after starting on pole in the absence of Gore, veered off the track in the first lap. Samaroo took third, being the only other driver to complete the full course.
Police ranks in Berbice on Saturday arrested a tattoo artist from Rose Hall Town with 436 grams of marijuana during a cordon and search operation.
The ranks, acting on information received, went to the home of 29-year-old Nicholson Samaroo, at Mattai Street, Rose Hall Town.
A statement from Police Headquarters noted that as the ranks arrived at the gate, Samaroo was seen standing about five feet away.
He reportedly picked up a bulky pink plastic and threw it into a clump of bushes.
One of the ranks opened the plastic bag in the presence of Samaroo, and it was found to contain a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
Samaroo was told of the offence committed and cautioned. He was arrested and taken to the Rose Hall Town Police Station where the cannabis was weighed.
Samaroo was placed into custody and is slated to be charged.
An accident on Agriculture Road, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara in the wee hours of Sunday claimed the life of 19-year-old Glenroy James, who resided in the same community.
Police Headquarters reported that the accident occurred at around 01:45 hrs in the vicinity of Guyana Livestock Development Authority.
The accident involved Motor Lorry #GAD 6445, owned and driven by Mahendra Surujpersaud, a 20-year-old resident of Agriculture Road.
James and 32-year-old Anand Motielall were occupants.
Enquiries disclosed that the vehicle was proceeding south along Agriculture Road; the driver claimed that the lorry’s right front wheel came into contact with a 25 feet lantern pole that was lying across the western side of the road.
This caused the vehicle to topple several times, after which it collided with a utility pole along the western parapet.
The driver and occupants were flung from the lorry.
The driver and Motielall were picked up in a conscious state by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Unit.
James was picked up by Police ranks in an unconscious state, placed into a Police pick-up and taken to GPHC, where he was pronounced dead.
The body is presently at Memorial Gardens Mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
