In a joint statement issued by the United States & Canadian governments on October 15, 2022, the two countries confirmed the delivery of security equipment purchased by the Haitian government.
According to the joint statement, the materials & security equipment delivered to the Director General of the Haitian National Police (HNP) included tactical and armored vehicles and other supplies.
The transport and logistical support for the delivery was made possible by a joint operation involving the U.S. Air Force and Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft.
In a tweet on his official Twitter page, Prime Minister Dr. Ariel Henry stated: “I welcome the arrival of the first batch of materials and equipment that we ordered for the PNH.”
The U.S. Embassy in Haiti also tweeted, “The United States and Canada stand with the Haitian people and are proud to support the PNH efforts to make Haiti safer for all citizens.”

The legendary Haitian music star collapsed on stage shortly after performing a spectacular duet with Carimi at the Accor Arena in Paris, France.
Many in the Haitian community are stunned by the untimely death of arguably one of the most influential figures in Haitian music history.
Online tributes to the beloved artist have begun to pour in, with fans and musical personalities alike sharing photos and videos of their previous interactions with the young and talented artist.
According to a press release issued by Haiti’s Ministry of Communication on October 12, 2022, Haitian Prime Minister Dr. Ariel Henry met with a higher-ranking US delegation led by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Hemispheric Affairs, Mr. Brian Nichols.
In addition to Mr. Nichols, the American delegation included the following individuals:

The high-level meeting between Haitian and American government officials was described as an opportunity to discuss some of the country’s most pressing security and humanitarian issues.

Naomi Osaka : Nouvelle visite de la championne haitiano-japonaise en Haïti
Mercredi 23 septembre 2020 ((rezonodwes.com))– Sans tambour ni trompette, la championne de Tennis Naomi Osaka, débarque une nouvelle fois dans le pays natal de son père, Haïti.
Cette nouvelle visite, effectuée quelques jours après son deuxième sacre à l’US Open la devrait permettre à la jeune athlète d’évaluer la bonne marche de ses projets éducatifs à Jacmel.
La star mondiale sponsorise en effet un établissement scolaire et un centre d’apprentissage du Tennis. A partir de ce dernier projet, Naomi Osaka espère découvrir de nouveaux talents qui pourront, à l’avenir, faire flotter le drapeau haitien sur les courts de Tennis les plus prestigieux du monde.
Ce voyage débuté lundi se réalise également dans le cadre de la réalisation par le géant du streaming, Netflix, d’un documentaire qui serait très bientôt diffusé sur le réseau américain.

En effet, Naomi Osaka va être au coeur d’un docu-série sur la plateforme de streaming Netflix. Il dévoilera entre autres les coulisses de la carrière de la jeune sportive, depuis l’US Open 2019, où son match contre Coco Gauff avait déjà beaucoup fait parler, jusqu’aux JO de Pékin.
Selon les informations dévoilées jusqu’ici, le documentaire détaillera « le parcours [d’Osaka] dans le monde du tennis, sa vie en dehors du court ». La date de sortie n’a pas encore été communiquée.

Chaque année, 1,9 million de personnes meurent de maladies cardiaques provoquées par le tabac, selon un nouveau rapport conjoint publié mardi par l’Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS), la Fédération mondiale du cœur et l’Université de Newcastle, en Australie, à l’occasion de la Journée mondiale du cœur, qui sera célébrée le 29 septembre.
Mercredi 23 septembre 2020 ((rezonodwes.com))– « Les fumeurs sont plus susceptibles de subir un accident cardiovasculaire aigu à un plus jeune âge que les non-fumeurs », ont précisé les auteurs du rapport invitant « tous les fumeurs à arrêter de fumer et à éviter une crise cardiaque ».
Selon le rapport, peu importe qu’il s’agisse de quelques cigarettes par jour, de tabagisme occasionnel ou d’exposition à la fumée secondaire, le tabac augmente le risque de maladies cardiaques. Toutefois, si les fumeurs prennent des mesures immédiates et cessent de fumer, leur risque de maladie cardiaque diminue de 50% après un an d’abstinence.
« Compte tenu des preuves sur le tabac et la santé cardiovasculaire et des avantages pour la santé de l’arrêt du tabac, ne pas offrir de services de sevrage aux patients souffrant de maladies cardiaques pourrait être considéré comme une faute professionnelle ou une négligence clinique », a déclaré le Dr Eduardo Bianco, président du groupe d’experts sur le tabac de la Fédération mondiale du cœur.
« Les sociétés de cardiologie devraient former leurs membres au sevrage tabagique, ainsi que promouvoir et même piloter les efforts de sensibilisation à la lutte antitabac », a maintenu Dr Bianco.
OMSSelon l’Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS), l’usage du tabac fait environ huit millions de victimes par an.
Le dossier démontre également que le tabac sans fumée est responsable d’environ 200.000 décès par an dus à des maladies coronariennes, et que la cigarette électronique, qui augmente la pression artérielle, accroît le risque de maladie cardiovasculaire.
De plus, l’hypertension artérielle et les maladies cardiaques augmentent le risque de Covid -19 grave.
Une récente enquête de l’OMS a révélé que parmi les personnes qui sont mortes de Covid -19 en Italie, 67% souffraient d’hypertension et en Espagne, 43% des personnes qui ont développé la Covid-19 vivent avec une maladie cardiaque.
« Les gouvernements ont la responsabilité de protéger la santé de leur population et de contribuer à faire reculer l’épidémie de tabagisme. Faire en sorte que nos communautés soient sans tabac réduit le nombre d’admissions à l’hôpital liées au tabac, ce qui est plus important que jamais dans le contexte de la pandémie actuelle », a déclaré le chef de l’Unité antitabac de l’OMS, Dr Vinayak Prasad.
La lutte contre le tabagisme est un élément clé pour réduire les maladies cardiaques.
Les organisations affirment que les gouvernements peuvent aider les consommateurs de tabac à arrêter de fumer en augmentant les taxes sur les produits du tabac, en faisant respecter les interdictions de publicité pour le tabac et en offrant des services pour aider les gens à renoncer au tabac.
