Jesse Jackson, visits Mocha at President Ali’s request By admin , in Uncategorized , at May 29, 2024 Residents gathered at the meeting (Photo: Enrico Wooldford) “I want to thank him for extending that opportunity. President Ali also encouraged me to meet with the opposition and to come into the community and meet with you and talk to you,” Jackson told the residents. The Congressman, who is the son of prominent US Civil Rights leader Reverend Jesse Jackson, was invited to Guyana for several days by President Ali. He participated in Guyana’s 58th Independence Anniversary celebrations and has been engaging both the government and opposition. And as he engaged the residents, he pointed out that here are many parallels between Guyana and Americans- particularly the people of Afro-descent in both countries. Because of that, he says the people of both countries should be deepening ties. Comments Leave a ReplyCancel replyYour email address will not be published.
