Kako miner, 19, charged with murder 

Ronslee Isaacs, called “Rocky,” a 19-year-old miner of Kako Village, Upper Mazaruni River, has been charged with the murder of fellow villager Graig Hastings.

In a release, Police headquarters said the charge of murder was laid contrary to Common Law of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.

On Thursday, Isaacs reportedly appeared via Zoom before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed at the Kamarang Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was remanded to prison until June 12, 2026, for continuation.

Further details on the death of Hastings were not provided.
