Close to 60 Archers to compete in National Indoor Championship

Sponsored by Seven Seas, the competition will commence with the ranking rounds from April 25 to 28, from 17:00h to 20:00h daily. This will be followed by the grand finals on April 30, starting at 07:30h and running until 17:00h.

Male and female Archers attached to various clubs will compete in two categories, namely Barebow and Recurve.

The championship will see representation from Archers attached to The Archery Guild, Qayyim Archery, Archery Guyana, Nations Archery Club and Pro Archers.

President of Archery Guyana, Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon said the Archery fraternity is buzzing with excitement and Archers are prepping for what is anticipated to be a very competitive week of Archery.

Persaud-McKinnon, who is passionate about the development of the sport here, is extending an invitation to members of the public to witness the championship, and also support Archery Guyana’s fundraising bar-b-que on the day of the finals.

She also expressed gratitude to Seven Seas for seeing it fit to support the National Indoor Championship, noting that corporate support is crucial in helping to develop Archery in Guyana.
