Motorcyclist, 20, dies in Mandela Avenue crash

According to the Police, the driver of car (PNN 9458), 40-year-old Marvin Williams of Grove Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara, claimed that he was proceeding north along the western drive lane when he observed the motorcycle proceeding south.

Williams said the motorcycle started to skid on its side and ended up in his path, resulting in the collision.

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMTs) were summoned and Blankin was pronounced dead by Dr. Ricket. His body was transported to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, McKenzie was picked up by the EMTs in a conscious condition and transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she was treated and sent away.

A Notice of Intended Prosecution was served on Williams after a breathalyzer test was conducted on him which found no trace of alcohol in his system. Further investigations are ongoing.
