Newcomer ‘Easy Time’ stuns field at Guyana Cup 15
The thoroughbred, bought at an auction in the US by the Master Z Stable, outclassed his competitors in the C1 and Lower one-mile main event, dethroning stable-mate and pre-race favourite Alado.
The animal, powered by a Brazilian jockey, arrived in the country less than a fortnight ago.
“It feels great (to win). But the defending champion Alado, I really thought he was going to do it today,” Mohamed Jr. remarked after the race.
“I was not expecting him (Easy Time) to win; he only came (in Guyana) 10 days ago. He wasn’t fit. We got him from an auction. He came out, did great and outclassed the horses.”
El Tarzan of the Slingerz Racing Stable came in a distant second, followed by Our Stuie of the Jagdeo Racing Stable and Bossalina, owned by Deleep Esreepersaud.
