“This operation will give the market more options and will ensure competitiveness in terms of airfare…Already we have seen another airline dropping their prices,” he said.
He added, “…we have been investing in ensuring that we go to all of the available opportunities that exist…to attract and engage new airlines in Guyana”.
Similar sentiments were expressed by Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar, who said to make travel “smooth and easy”, the Government is in “advanced” discussions as it look to implement e-gates and a border control system at the airports.
“…Canadians found it difficult, one to get a flight and whenever they got one it was one that was expensive…I am proud today to say…today we have a reality with an inaugural flight that added another airline to the route from Canada to Guyana,” he said.
Meanwhile, in brief remarks Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fly Allways, Amichand Jhauw said the desire is to see the cooperation flourish into a partnership to benefit all.
“Fly All Ways have offered flights to and from Guyana for a while now and we would like to see that this cooperation proven to be one of friendship kindness and a full opportunity for all parties involved,” he said.
