Labourer’s body found floating in Dredge Creek

The body of Wayne Hendricks, a 42-year-old labourer, was found floating in Dredge Creek, Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam) on Friday.

Police Headquarters reported that Keimesha Smith, a 28-year-old housewife, saw the body floating in a canal at around 10:00 hrs Friday.

Smith later identified the body as that of her brother-in-law, Hendricks.

The body was facing upwards, on the western side of the canal. The partly decomposed body was later taken out of the water and no marks of violence were observed.

Smith related that Hendricks lived alone and was an alcoholic; she last saw him alive on Tuesday at his house.

The body was subsequently taken to the Suddie Hospital Mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination. Investigations are ongoing.
