U.S. man wanted for guns, ammo in barrel at GNIC wharf

nine firearms and a large quantity of ammunition in a barrel at the GNIC wharf last Friday.

In a wanted bulletin issued, the Guyana Police Force said Fraser, 56, is wanted for questioning for the offence of trafficking in firearms and ammunition.

Fraser’s last known address is Lot 1582 Larkspur TR Conyers, Georgia, 30012, police said.

The News Room had reported that the discovery was made when the barrel was being processed by customs officials.

The firearms; two Taurus pistols, a Glock 23, a Glock 40, a Roebuck Quad lock pistol, a Glock 19, a Luger pistol, a G3 Taurus pistol and one RF-15 rifle and 5,280 rounds of ammunition were concealed between clothing and food items packed inside the barrel.

The barrel was sent to the GNIC wharf through Laparkan shipping from the USA. It was addressed to a female resident of Guyhoc Park.

At the time of the discovery, a man was present at the wharf to receive the barrel. He was arrested for questioning.
