Bartender to stand trial for rape gets $150,000 bail

Randolph Williams called Travis, a 27-year-old bartender of Cotten Field, Essequibo Coast, was on Wednesday committed to stand trial for rape of a child under the age of 16.

He appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Esther Sam.

All statements and documents were tendered and marked as exhibits during the hearing, Police headquarters reported.

Magistrate Esther Sam ruled that based on the statements and exhibits tendered before the Court, there was  enough to commit the accused to stand trial.

Williams was granted in the sum of $150,000.
