Deadly robbery: Bandits slit throat of Chinese national, wife injured, 2 arrested
The Chinese national who was brutally murdered on Thursday afternoon during a robbery at Eteringbang Landing, Cuyuni River has been identified as supermarket owner, Yang Lisong.
Police Headquarters confirmed that his throat was slit by his attacker/s during the incident which occurred around 14:00 hrs.
Lisong’s reputed wife, Wen Shuping who was present during the ordeal, was also injured. She sustained two lacerations to her right side jaw.
According to the police, the couple who are both from China, operates a supermarket at Eteringbang Landing.
Police Headquarters confirmed that two suspects have since been arrested and are currently in custody; the hunt is ongoing for a third suspect.
One of the suspects, 19-year-old Pharrell Adelph was caught attempting to exit the building.
According to a police report, ranks from the Eterengbang Police Station received a phone call from the owner of the building that houses the supermarket, ‘Vanlang’.
He reported that something was happening at the building.
As a result, ranks who were at Eteringbang Landing at the time responded.
“On arrival at the supermarket they found the entrance locked,” Police said.
Police Headquarters said upon checking, Lisong was found in one of the rooms in the building. He was lying against a wall, clad in a grey jersey and dark grey trousers.
There was a 13cm wound to his neck; his wife was found in another room.
