Providence resident, 30, stabbed by man on bicycle
Orcsenio Benn, a 30-year-old resident of Providence, East Bank Demerara (EBD), was stabbed to his chest and head Tuesday night at Ketley Street, Charlestown, Georgetown.
Police Headquarters reported that Benn was standing with another man on the western side of Ketley Street at about 20:30 hrs.
As Benn was about to leave, the brother of the man he was with reportedly approached the duo on a bicycle and stabbed him (Benn) three times, twice to his chest and once to the right side of his head.
The suspect then escaped east along Ketley Street. Soon after, Benn was picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital for treatment. The man is currently receiving treatment; his condition is listed as stable.
Benn and the suspect allegedly had a prior misunderstanding.
