Murder at Arakaka: Pork-knocker stabbed by drinking buddy
A Pork-knocker died on Sunday after he was stabbed during an argument with his drinking buddy at Arakaka, North West District.
Dead is Trevor Hilliman of Five Miles Arakaka and Public Road, Pouderoyen, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
The stabbing occurred around 23:00 hrs at Jonnel Gaskin’s Shop in Five Miles, Arakaka, North West District.
Police Headquarters confirmed that the attacker, Kenny David, a 42-year-old miner from Five Miles Arakaka was arrested at the scene. He remains in police custody.
Hilliman and the suspect are known to each other.
According to a police report, on the day in question, David was passing on the main access road when Hilliman called him and they started to imbibe together.
“After a while, a heated argument ensued, and the suspect pulled out a knife from the waist of his pants and dealt the victim a stab to the left chest,” Police Headquarter said in a statement.
The police were contacted. “Upon arrival, the suspect, who was still on the scene, was pointed out, and he was cautioned and arrested,” Police said.
Hilliman’s body was escorted to Port Kaituma Hospital mortuary and is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
