Police find $295M worth of marijuana, shotguns in Berbice

Upon arrival there, a man was seen running from a house into some bushes.

The ranks pursued him but the man managed to escape.

Police said the house was searched and the following items were found:

*one twelve gauge shotgun

*components for two firearms. ( 2- stock, 2- trigger guard, 1- barrel, 1 – spring and 1 – firing pin)

* one hundred and twenty-five twelve gauge cartridges

*six bulky parcels wrapped with transparent plastics and one brown salt bag all containing a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.

*four hundred dry cannabis plants in the ceiling.

Police said the total street value of narcotics found amounted to $295M.

“The bulky parcels, the firearms, and all the firearm components were taken to Central Police Station.  The suspected cannabis was weighed and amounted to 54 pounds,” Police Headquarters noted.

All the items were marked, sealed, and lodged. No arrests were made.
