16-year-old stabbed to death during argument

Benjamin Seaford, a 16-year-old of Kitty, Georgetown was stabbed to death in the wee hours of Monday at Gordon Street, Kitty, by an unemployed 22- year-old also of  Kitty.

Police Headquarters said Seaford and the suspect are known to each other. At about 04: 30 hrs, Seaford was at the corner of Lamaha and Gordon Street, where he and the suspect argued.

A scuffle ensued and the suspect pulled a knife from the left side of his pants waist and stabbed Seaford several times about his body.

Seaford reportedly ran in a western direction on Gordon Street and collapsed about 100 feet from the intersection of Gordon and Lamaha Street. The suspect then made good his escape.

The police and Emergency Medical Technicians were summoned and responded.

Seaford’s body was examined and he was pronounced dead by a doctor of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

The scene was processed by ranks of the Crime Scene Unit, Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters.

The body of the deceased was taken to the ‘Memorial Gardens’ funeral home awaiting post-mortem examination.

Investigations are ongoing.
