OPR investigating incident with cop ‘scolding minors’

The Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) is investigating a complaint against a member of the Guyana Police Force stationed at the Mabaruma Police Station. This incident, a short statement released by Police Headquarters revealed, gained attention on social media and involved the officer allegedly scolding two minors who are his cousins. The minors reside with him and his mother in Hosororo Village, Region One.

“Investigators from the Office of Professional Responsibility have contacted the victims’ relatives as the investigation continues. The Police rank involved is also being questioned,” the statement noted.
