Grand Coastal cops hotel, restaurant of the year awards from THAG

Kevin Daby, CEO of Grand Coastal Hotel, expressed his gratitude, stating, “As a Guyanese-owned business competing against new and international brands in our rapidly evolving hospitality industry, we are deeply honoured to be recognised as Hotel of the Year and Restaurant of the Year. This recognition reflects our team’s hard work as we strive to create memorable experiences for our guests. I am especially grateful to our loyal and dedicated team, many of whom have been with us for over 10 years.”
“These accolades are also a validation of our ongoing efforts to perfect our product. We continually invest in training and upskilling our staff, and modernising our operations with cutting-edge software. We have recruited a new Executive Chef, Fabio Sarmiento from Peru, whose international training and experience have brought a fresh perspective to our restaurant. While we are known for Guyanese cuisine, especially in our weekly “Flavours of Guyana” creole buffet and Sunday Brunch buffet, Chef Fabio’s direction of the kitchen introduces new cuisines influenced by Guyanese ingredients and tastes.”
Over the past few years in the hotel’s post-pandemic recovery phase, Grand Coastal Hotel has also embarked on a massive renovation project, significantly upgrading the property. The first phases of the renovation included new standard rooms, updated features and finishes, and a brand-new expanded kitchen, which has enabled the hotel to increase speed, efficiency and productivity in its food and beverage operations by up to 100%.
Grand Coastal Hotel continues to set the benchmark for excellence in hospitality in Guyana, with a focus on providing unparalleled service, comfort, and value. The hotel is committed to maintaining its high standards and looks forward to welcoming guests from around the world to experience its award-winning Guyanese hospitality.
