Aliann Pompey on return of Invitational: ‘The hiatus was tough, but the possibilities are now endless’

Owing to several factors, one of which was the COVID-19 pandemic, the Invitational was last held in 2019.

According to founder Aliann Pompey, it was tough to witness the stalling of the event for four years, but now with significant support from government and other stakeholders to enable its return, the four-time Olympian said the possibilities are endless.

Government, through the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, has committed G$7M to the event, the largest investment it has made in the premier international track and field showpiece in the country.
