‘Cordy’ back in custody after early release

Ricardo Singh called ‘Cordy,’the man who was released from prison before serving his full sentence due to incorrect record, is back in custody.

“Ricardo Singh called ‘Cordy’, who was released before his sentence expired, owing to the “incorrect date placed on his record”, is back in custody,” the Guyana Prison Service said on Friday.

Singh was released on January 22, 2025 due to an incorrect date placed on his record.

Singh, 25, was serving a two years and three months sentence for robbery under arms.

His hails from Onderneeming Sand Pit on the Essequibo Coast.

The Guyana Prison Service expressed appreciation to members of the public and family members for their support.
