New date for AmCham Guyana golf tournament to be announced shortly
A new date for the third annual American Chamber of Commerce Guyana (AmCham Guyana) will be announced shortly, following the postponement of the April 25 tournament at the Lusignan Golf Course.
“This decision (to postpone) has been made due to unforeseen weather conditions that have resulted in significant flooding of the course, making it challenging to properly prepare and deliver the high-quality experience we are committed to providing,” AmCham Guyana said in a statement.
“Our goal is to host a tournament that matches and exceeds the standards set in previous years. To achieve this, we require suitable course conditions so that everyone can enjoy a day of competitive play, fun, and great camaraderie.”
AmCham Guyana added: “A new date will be announced shortly as we continue to monitor weather conditions over the coming week. Please be advised that all spectator passes will remain valid for the rescheduled date. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding and continued support.”
The tournament is fully subscribed with over 100 players set to compete. A total of 28 teams, comprising four players each, have registered.
This continued growth builds on the success of the 2025 edition, which featured 26 teams (104 players), and the inaugural tournament, which hosted 20 teams (80 players).
This year AmCham Guyana secured Trident BMC/Machine Tech, Digicel Business and SBM Offshore as Title Sponsors, complemented by Hole Sponsors Baker Hughes, Halliburton, MACORP, Marriott Hotel, and United Airlines; Brand Visibility Sponsor BYD- Build Your Dreams; and Foursome Sponsors Keen360, Archer Guyana and Caribbean, ExxonMobil Guyana, Namilco, Vista Trading and Logistics (Guyana) Inc., Case International, Air Dash, One Communications, and SLB.
“Through initiatives such as the Annual Golf Tournament, AmCham Guyana reaffirms its commitment to corporate social responsibility, community engagement, and the cultivation of enduring partnerships,” AmCham Guyana highlighted.
AmCham Guyana is a voluntary, non-profit, membership organisation committed to promoting and enhancing commercial relations between the United States and Guyana.
