De Willem man collapses and dies

Police in Region Three are (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man, who reportedly collapsed and died on Sunday at Kastev, West Coast Demerara.

Dead is Sunny Rampral Persaud, 51, of De Willem, WCD.

Police Commander Mahendra Sewnarine told the News Room that person/s were heading to church when they claimed that they noticed the man clutching his chest shortly before he collapsed.

The Police were summoned and the body was examined. According to Sewnarine, the body bore a bruise but it does not appear to be consistent with the cause of death.

Sewnarine said investigators are awaiting the results of post-mortem examination to determine how the man met his demise.
