Decomposed body of man found at Tapakuma

The decomposed body of a man was on Tuesday found at in a building at Tapakuma Village, Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam).

Police Headquarters reported that a woman was driving along the Tapakuma trail when she was confronted by a stench emanating from an unfinished building.

As a result, the Police were contacted and the discovery of a body was made around 17:20 hrs.

Police said ranks discovered the body in the upper flat of the building. It was in an advanced stage of decomposition.

The man is believed to be about 50 years old.

The body was taken to the Suddie Public Hospital, mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Police said enquiries were made in the area to identify the man but no useful information was obtained so far.
