A motorcyclist was killed on Saturday following a two-vehicle collision along the Reliance Public Road, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
The deceased has been identified as Satesh Persaud, also known as “Tony”, of Reliance, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
According to information received, Persaud was exiting a street and attempting to get onto the Reliance Public Road without checking for oncoming traffic.
At the time, a motor car was travelling north along the western carriageway at a fast rate of speed and collided with the motorcycle.

As a result of the impact, Persaud was flung several feet into the air and eventually landed on the roadway with severe head and bodily injuries.
He was transported to the Lima Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty. The driver of the motor car was taken into Police custody as investigators launched a probe into the fatal accident.
