$1M in cannabis in a boat at Charity Stelling in Region Two.
In a press statement, CANU said a team of ranks carried out an operation at the stelling during which a search was conducted on a boat and a box containing several parcels of suspected cannabis was found.
Mangra was the lone occupant of the boat.
He was arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters, where the suspected narcotics tested positive for cannabis.

The highly anticipated Player Draft for the Republic Bank 2023 Caribbean Premier League tournament will now be aired June month-end.
While the retentions of the six franchises have been made public, the remaining draft and overseas picks will be announced during the show.
CPL is currently finalising broadcasting arrangements and a definitive date will be announced in due course, News Room Sport was able to confirm on Monday.
Initially, June 5 was announced as the date for the Draft, however, that has shifted by a few weeks.
“All the names that will be announced prior to the show are out there. As ever, things can change with CPL, but current plan is for overseas signings and drafted players to be announced during the draft show,” a CPL source explained.
Retained players
BARBADOS ROYALS: Jason Holder, Kyle Mayers, Obed McCoy, Rahkeem Cornwall, Justin Greaves, Joshua Bishop, Nyeem Young and Ramon Simmonds. The Royals have also brought in Rovman Powell, who was transferred from the Jamaica Tallawahs.
GUYANA AMAZON WARRIORS: Shimron Hetmyer, Odean Smith, Romario Shepherd, Shai Hope, Keemo Paul, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Gudakesh Motie, Matthew Nandu and Junior Sinclair.
JAMAICA TALLAWAHS: Brandon King, Fabian Allen, Shamarh Brooks, Raymon Reifer, Amir Jangoo, Shamar Springer, Nicholson Gordon, Kirk McKenzie and Joshua James. The Tallawahs have also brought in Hayden Walsh Jr. who was transferred from the Barbados Royals.
ST. KITTS AND NEVIS PATRIOTS: Sherfane Rutherford, Evin Lewis, Andre Fletcher, Dominic Drakes, Sheldon Cottrell and Joshua DaSilva. Patriots have also secured the services of fast bowler Oshane Thomas, who was transferred from the Barbados Royals
ST. LUCIA KINGS: Johnson Charles, Alzarri Joseph, Roston Chase, Roshon Primus, Jeavor Royal, Matthew Forde and McKenny Clarke. The Kings have also secured the services of Khary Pierre who has been transferred to the team from the Trinbago Knight Riders.
TRINBAGO KNIGHT RIDERS: Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Nicholas Pooran, Akeal Hosein and Jayden Seales. The Knight Riders have also secured the services of Dwayne Bravo, who will be returning to the franchise from the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. They will also have Mark Deyal as part of their set-up in 2023 with the all-rounder joining the Knight Riders from the St. Lucia Kings.
The tournament gets underway on August 16 with the final taking place on September 24.
There will be matches in Barbados, Guyana, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago.
Narain was intercepted during an operation on Saturday at Eliza Mary, Corriverton, Berbice.
He was escorted to CANU Headquarters in Berbice where the suspected narcotics was weighed and tested.
It amounted to 69 grammes of ecstasy and 101 grammes of hashish.
Hash is a drug made by compressing and processing parts of the cannabis plant.

The children at the nursery level will be screened for health complications such as vision, ear, dental, and other health issues. There will be packages of services provided to all schools, where each child will be examined.
They will undergo another screening process when they enter primary schools so that overtime, the ministry will be able to intervene. The intent is to mitigate potential learning setbacks and to encourage the development of healthy lifestyle among young people. This year the ministry aims to target 55 schools.
Early detection of vision, hearing and other health complications is important.
According to the former Chief Education Officer, Dr Marcel Hutson the Education Ministry is aware that everybody has challenges with learning but it is also the Ministry’s duty to find ways to help learners.
Through this collaborative effort between the health and education ministries, data that is needed for a more constructive response to the challenges learners face will be developed.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the match schedule and venue for the West Indies Women’s international home series against Ireland Women.
The highly anticipated series will feature three CG United One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals (T20Is) at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in St. Lucia from June 26 to July 9.
The first two CG United ODIs will bowl off at 10:00h, with the third being a day/night game, starting at 15:00h. The three T20Is will commence at 17:00h.
The ODIs hold significant weight in this series, as they contribute crucial points to the ICC Women’s Championship and the results will therefore directly impact qualification for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 in India.
CWI’s High Performance Manager Graeme West said: “The Ireland Series is the only engagement in the region for the Senior Women in 2023 and its critical we maximize ‘home’ advantage in the three CG United ODIs as we continue our qualification campaign towards the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2025. The three T20Is will kick start the preparation towards the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup which the team has already qualified for.”
West added, “Ireland have shown great improvement in recent times and the game between the two sides in February at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa was a thriller. We will need to prepare well for both series with very clear game plans, the squad will get time in St Lucia prior to the first ODI to establish the key roles and focus areas that each player will be required to execute in order to play winning cricket. It’s exciting to be taking international Women’s Cricket back to St Lucia, the island is developing a number of exciting young female players and we hope the Ireland games can inspire more girls to get involved and start their own cricket journeys.”

Police further unearthed two bulky brown salt bags and two bulky transparent parcels suspected to be cannabis. The two brown salt bags and the two transparent parcels were removed in the man’s presence and police observed that one of the brown salt bags contained three transparent parcels and the other brown salt bag contained two transparent parcels which amounted to seven parcels suspected to be cannabis.
The police said they were told of the allegation, cautioned and arrested. The narcotics were weighed in their presence which amounted to 54.790 kilogrammes (which is converted to 120.7 lbs). The firearm was also lodged.

The project is important because this system would significantly reduce wait time for results, therefore making diagnosis and treatment options available sooner.
Meanwhile, the telemedicine programme will be expanded to more remote community health centres. By the end of June, some 20 more centres will be utilising the programme in Regions One, Eight, and Seven.
Similar to the telepathology programme, telemedicine allows community health workers based at health centres to access the expertise of doctors and other professionals in Georgetown through phones, laptops connected to the internet, and other electronic devices.
Further, the health sector is undergoing a massive transformation to include digital record keeping. Dr. Anthony announced that the legislation for an electronic data system for the health sector is also slated to be presented to the National Assembly. This system will have data saved on one system but accessible at all healthcare facilities, making access to patient information easier.
“It is a very comprehensive piece of legislation that will lay the legal foundation for the electronic health record system in the country,” Dr. Anthony said.
Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness recently said that the entrepreneurial prowess of Jamaican business titan Lascelles Chin made LASCO a household name, and his philanthropy improved countless lives.
Lisa Hanna, Member of Parliament for South East St. Ann who had known Chin for over three decades said he was a central force in uplifting Jamaicans and their quality of life. Senator Matthew Samuda, Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, called Chin a “titan of industry, an innovator and a philanthropist,” while Senator Peter Bunting, Opposition Spokesperson on National Security, said Chin was an inspiration for local entrepreneurs and praised his pioneering efforts in social responsibility through the LASCO Awards for teachers, police, and nurses.

1. Lascelles Chin was born in Bog Walk, St. Catherine, and grew up in Kendal in Manchester and Balaclava in St Elizabeth.
2. Coming from humble beginnings, Chin even had to make his own toys as a child.
3. Chin acknowledged that he was teased a lot during his school day because he was Chinese, but this only made him more determined to reach his goals by studying hard to be successful.
4. In 1961, at the age of 23, Chin used his savings of £175 and began importing black pepper from Asia and peas from Portugal and the United States, rapidly becoming Jamaica’s largest trader in black pepper.
5. Chin partnered with the German company Henkel Limited in 1965 when he heard Henkel was planning to establish an adhesive plant in Jamaica. He became the chair and managing director of Henkel’s Jamaica operations and made the island the top per capita user of its adhesives in the world.

7. Chin was presented with Jamaica’s fourth highest civilian honor, the Order of Jamaica, in 2001 in recognition of his commitment to philanthropy and his contributions to the development of commerce and business in Jamaica.
8. Chin also received two honorary degrees: the Doctor of Laws from the University of Technology in Jamaica and the Doctor of Humane Letters from Northern Caribbean University.
9. Chin served on the board of the Kings House Foundation, was Director of the Standards Council at the Bureau of Standards in Jamaica, and was a member of the Rotary Club of St. Andrew North.
10. Lascelles Chin was married to Eileen Chin, and the couple had two sons. Eileen Chin is also an entrepreneur who joined the LASCO Group in 1999 and became general manager of LASCO Foods, LASCO Food (Successors) Limited, and LASCO Properties in 2008. She is a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Directors of LASCO Manufacturing Limited and LASCO Distributors Limited and has an MBA in Global Management and skills in negotiation, risk management, and Lean Six Sigma.

There is just something unfair about studying for a test and not seeing everything you study about actually showing up on the test itself. This was always my challenge and I am sure it is for many reading this article. You look over your notes given by the teacher more than once then there are questions appearing foreign showing up on the test.
The reality is that it is very hard to include every single detail from the actual teaching into the test itself. As much as it is frustrating it is impossible to incorporate every single detail to show up on the test.
I grew up in church. My grandparents made me go to church even as a little boy. I remember hanging on to my grandmother’s dress-tail walking and frowning silently to avoid a beating. I now realize as a man the importance of corporate worship. As long as I have been going to church I have never heard a pastor preach every single word on marriage from God’s word, the Bible. The church lays a strong root for marriages but there are some marriage questions I had no answer for until my actual marriage journey began.
Michelle and I are tested frequently in our own marriage of twenty two golden years and we are still working at figuring out the answers. The truth is, the church cannot give all the answers. God Gives Sex As A Treasure. Enjoy It.
God created sex to be enjoyed in within the confinement of marriage. I was never truly enlightened on sex. I am almost certain that you have not been either. It is almost like a mystery you figure out along the way. This is why the devil is having a field day with even Christian marriages. Sex appears dirty to even the ones who are permitted to enjoy it as being married. As married couples, you are authorized to explore and enjoy this great God-given treasure. Go ahead and feel free to do so.
The Early Years of Marriage Are Difficult
Michelle and I can attest to this fact. The wedding creates a fairytale that you will live happily ever after. Hollywood paints a deceptive picture and gets paid millions for that painting. It shows a marriage with no difficulty until it cannot hide it anymore. You see how Hollywood couples break up like breaking bread into crumbs after only a few months of being married. The truth is, God created marriage with difficulty so you can draw closer to Him. I remember washing my van in my early years of marriage and asked God a question, “why are you not changing Michelle?” When He answered I felt disappointed but shortly after I realized the power in His response. “I am changing you” is what I got back from God. Little did we know back then that our PAIN was for a great PURPOSE. God grows your marriage muscle through hardship but only if you let Him. Things get so much easier as the years go by. We no longer major on the minors as we watch God use us to share and minister to so many married couples struggling in their own marriages today.
A Wife or Husband Does Not Make You Complete
This phrase in that famous movie says “YOU COMPLETE ME” is such a lie. As much as it is a movie it still deceives so many married couples into thinking that their spouses complete them. God created marriage for both husband and wife to BECOME one…..key word BECOME. Unfortunately, an insecure spouse who may have had past bad experiences and still carrying those baggage cannot be made complete by another spouse who have their own baggage. We are all imperfect thriving for healing that only comes from the one who created marriage, God. God can and is willing to make you complete when you surrender to Him by loving and respecting each other in the marriage.
Everybody Does Not Have To Get Married
“So then the person who marries his fiancee does well, and the person who doesn’t marry does even better.” 1 Corinthians 7:38. God did not create marriage and say you must get married or you are living a life of sin. God said if you are not married and are having sex, you are living a life of sin.
God has not called everybody to get married. God put no pressure on us to marry. Man put the pressure on each other to get married. “Hey time to tie the knot!” “You are getting old and need a partner!” All with good intent but really deceptive advice. No man knows your life plan like God does. God says, “I KNOW THE PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU.” What if His plan is for you to remain single for great purposes you do not know of. Seek God through prayer and ask Him alone for your spouse and wait. He may say YES, NO or WAIT. Either way, trust His answer. It is perfect.
Marriage was created as a mystery. God wants every couple to live a Godly life while staying married for life. Although He gives the two keys to live this life in marriage, he allows space for every husband and wife to make Godly choices along the journey of marriage which will help them grow into the greatest marriage ever, A MARRIAGE IN GOD’S IMAGE. Huddle up and enjoy each other as you explore this beautiful mystery of marriage. Michelle and I are still exploring and we continually pray for every married couple to experience the Joy, Peace, Love and Harmony deserved and intended by God for each couple.
