DNA test confirms charred remains belong to missing Bel Air woman
The skeletal remains were found at around 17:00 hrs on November 12 at the back of Swan Village on the Soesdyke-Linden highway.
However, due to the state of the remains, positive identification was not possible.
As such, a DNA test was done with samples obtained from the burnt remains.
The News Room had reported that a passerby noticed the car-an Audi bearing registration number PTT 4651 on fire – and immediately informed the Police.
At left is the vehicle on fire; at right is the torched car where the charred remains of a person were found insideUpon their arrival, the ranks saw the car in a clump of bushes.
The driver’s side door was open and what appeared to be bones and skull of a human were seen on the driver’s seat.
The News Room understands that the vehicle is registered in the name of Algu.
Reliable information reaching the News Room revealed that Algu was last seen at 16:32 hrs on the day of the discovery in the said car at the Soesdyke junction. She was alone.
Prior to the discovery, all of Algu’s social media posts were deleted. She and her husband recently divorced.
