Two arrested as CANU ranks seize cocaine worth $8M

Two persons were arrested and just over 17 pounds of cocaine were seized by ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU).

On Tuesday, CANU officers conducted an operation at Tuschen Public Road, East Bank Essequibo.

A brief statement from CANU noted that as a result of the operation, approximately 7.8 kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately $8 million was seized.

The two persons in custody were not named.
