One dead, several injured following Reg. 5 accident 

An accident that occurred near the Berbice River Bridge entrance, West Bank Berbice, has left one person dead, and four persons, including a Police Officer, injured.

The individual who died has not yet been identified.

Reports are that around 12:30 hrs on Friday, driver of a motorcar involved in the accident reportedly lost control of the vehicle, slammed into a parked car, then crashed into a bus shed. The car then toppled several times before coming to a halt.

The passengers of the car were rushed to a nearby hospital. One of the individuals was pronounced dead by a doctor.

The News Room understands that four people who were seated at the bus stop were injured.

Police are investigating the incident.
