Young motorcyclist dies in East Coast Demerara crash

Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle incident that claimed the life of 21-year-old Brandon Thomas on Thursday morning, January 1, 2026, on the Coldingen Public Road, East Coast Demerara.

Thomas, a construction worker from Melanie, East Coast Demerara, was riding motorcycle CN 8252 east along the northern lane when he reportedly lost control and fell onto the roadway. He sustained injuries to his body and was rushed by public-spirited citizens to the Enmore Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

His body has been taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination. CCTV footage from the area has been secured and will be reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.

 

Police continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the accident.
