Cuban found dead on Railway Embankment 

The body of Wilbur Fonseca, a 53-year-old Cuban national of Eccles, East Bank Demerara, was found dead at Railway Embankment, Coldingen, East Coast Demerara, at about 06:30 hrs Wednesday.

In a release, Police Headquarters said the body was discovered lying motionless along the southern side of the embankment.

Police visited the scene, where the body was examined, and no visible marks of violence were observed. A cellular phone was found in the man’s pants pocket, while his driver’s licence and one boot were found nearby.

The body was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor on duty and was subsequently escorted to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.

Investigations are ongoing.
