Golden Jaguars beat Puerto Rico 3-1

Guyana’s Golden Jaguars stormed to a convincing 3-1 victory over Puerto Rico to provisionally go top of Group D in League B of the CONCACAF Nations League.

It is only the second win for Guyana in four meetings.

It was a come-from-behind triumph after Puerto Rico took the lead via Leandro Antonetti in the 11^th minute, and they carried that cushion into the first half.

However, the Jaguars’ second half was a revival as star forward Omari Glasgow netted a penalty in the 60^th, and three minutes later, Kelsey Benjamin placed Guyana in the lead.

Deon Moore capped off the fine day by scoring his first goal for the Jaguars in the 85^th.

The two sides will meet again on October 17 at St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association Technical Centre in Guyana’s ‘home match.’

Kick-off will be at 16:00h, and another win will significantly enhance their chances of being promoted to League A.
