Former West Indies players Royston Crandon and Shane Shillingford have been named in Canada’s 16-man squad for the 2026 International Masters Cricket (IMC) Over-40s World Cup, scheduled for October 17 to November 1 in Guyana.
The Canadian side will be led by off-spinning all-rounder Shailesh Patel, who represented Canada at the previous Over-40s World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2024. Former Canada international Jimmy Hansra is also included in the squad after representing the country in 28 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and eight T20 Internationals.
Canada will open their campaign against defending champions South Africa at the Enmore Community Centre ground on the East Coast of Demerara.
Shillingford, 43, played 16 Tests for the West Indies, while Guyanese Crandon, also 43, represented the regional side in one ODI.
The 16-team tournament will be hosted by the Cricket West Indies Masters Association, with the par-ticipating teams divided into two groups.
Canada has been drawn in Group A alongside defending champions South Africa, Australia, the West Indies, Namibia, Sri Lanka, Colombia and Wales.
Group B comprises New Zealand, Scotland, US, India, Pakistan, England, the Rest of the World XI and the Rest of the Caribbean XI.
